At the 2019 Policy Summit in March, we caught up with each of the Policy Chapter Chairs to get a brief overview of the work conducted in 2018 as well as the upcoming priorities for 2019.
Distinguished Professor Patsy Yates FACN is the Chair of the End of Life Care Policy Chapter and the Deputy Chair is Doctor Melissa Bloomer FACN.
This Chapter is developing a White Paper which will be informed by the previously released Position Statement, which provided nurses with a guide on the implications of Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) legislation.
The White Paper is expected to be launched this year and will use this to advocate for strategies which optimise nursing’s contribution in palliative care.
