For nurses, career advancement does not end the second they clock off at work. Continuing professional development (CPD), networking events, and even keeping up a social life with your fellow nurses are crucial parts of maintaining a long-term career in the profession.
At the Australian College of Nursing (ACN), our community has endless opportunities to connect, develop their skills and meet like-minded colleagues. Whether it is through our Graduate Certificates, Single Units of Study, CPD, Faculties and Regions, or a social nursing event, any chance to develop skills and network with your colleagues can help enhance your career and your life.
This month, ACN has a jam-packed schedule of nursing events, CPD and social opportunities to connect with your nursing friends and colleagues.
With so many things happening, it can be hard to tell where to start. We have collated together what is taking place across ACN to make June a fulfilling month to progress your career and engage with your profession.
Learn a new skill or recertify in wound management
For nurses looking to upskill or recertify in wound management care, this two-day workshop provides the knowledge to complete wound management through the HEIDIE method (history, examination, investigations, diagnosis, implementation, evaluation). Upon passing the two-day course, nurses will have proficiency in wound management, including specific areas of care across the human body.
The course is presented by Gary Bain RN CNC MClinEd BN DipApSc MACN, who has travelled across Australia to provide the wound management training directly to the nursing community. In June, Gary will facilitate the Wound Management Update in Melbourne, Victoria, and Coffs Harbour, NSW.
