Witness the reveal of the Vivian Bullwinkel sculpture
We are proud to see the ACN Foundation’s Bullwinkel Project come to fruition with the unveiling of the sculpture of Lieutenant Colonel Vivian Bullwinkel, AO, MBE, ARRC, ED, FNM, FRCNA. LTCOL Bullwinkel was the sole survivor of the 1942 Bangka Island massacre, during which 21 Australian nurses lost their lives. You can witness the historic moment when the first sculpture of a nurse, and the first of an individual woman, is unveiled on the grounds of the Australian War Memorial by tuning in to the Livestream at 7:30am AEST on Wednesday 2 August 2023.
Reflect, replenish and renew at the National Nursing Forum
It’s NNF time! ACN’s signature annual nursing event, the National Nursing Forum (NNF), will take place in Adelaide from Wednesday 9 – Friday 11 August 2023. The event will inspire and reinvigorate you through presentations, panel discussions, networking with high-profile leaders, and opportunities to connect and socialise with like-minded nurses. We have summarised Eight reasons why you’ll love the NNF to give you a sneak peek of what to expect. Tickets to the must-attend event are still available. If you won’t be able to join us in Adelaide, don’t worry, you can register to attend the virtual event.
Join us as the National Nursing Roadshow heads to Uluru
After kicking off our 2023 National Nursing Roadshow with an inaugural event in Melbourne we are excited to head to Uluru in August. Come along on Wednesday 16 August to connect with ACN CEO Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward FACN and engage in professional networking over drinks and canapes. Check out our Melbourne Roadshow photo album to a get taste of what to expect. Further Roadshow dates and locations will be released soon – stay tuned! In the meantime, keep an eye on ACN’s National Nursing Roadshow page for updates.
Let’s Talk Leadership with Professor The Hon Greg Hunt
ACN’s Let’s Talk Leadership Series is back! The series provides attendees with unprecedented access to high-calibre leaders, who share their triumphs and lessons learnt. Following a moving and inspirational evening with Wendy McCarthy in Sydney we are honoured to welcome Professor The Hon Greg Hunt as the speaker at our Melbourne event on 29 August. Professor The Hon Greg Hunt was responsible for leading Australia’s COVID-19 response for more than two years and is currently an Honorary Melbourne Enterprise Professor. Tickets to the event are priced at $95. ACN members receive the exclusive opportunity to secure a complimentary ticket as well as bring along a non-member friend free of charge.
Connect with ACN’s Faculties and share your feedback
Join the ACN Leadership Faculty Breakfast on 9 August in the lead-up to the National Nursing Forum to network with members of the Faculty, the Leadership Team and others interested in joining the group. The event will also offer an opportunity to provide your feedback on the direction of the Faculty and the support you would like it to provide.
The ACN First Nations Faculty will be holding its third Yarning Circle meeting on 23 August to provide members with an opportunity to provide input on the Faculty’s priorities and share their professional development needs.
