The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) is proud to again partner with the Australian Digital Health Agency (the agency) for the second running of My Health Record Nurse Champions program. The partnership is part of the broad clinical engagement of the agency nationally under the Federal Government’s implementation of the My Health Record. We are seeking expressions of interest from registered nurses to join a training program to become one of fifteen My Health Record Nurse Champions. - What is the Nurse Champions program?
The Nurse Champions program provides selected nurses with training to develop expertise in the use of My Health Record in clinical practice and become a resource for their organisation and nursing colleagues. It aims to better understand the needs of nurses and their patients in relation to My Health Record by examining feedback on how it is being used in clinical settings to effect positive clinical outcomes. To help raise awareness of the initiative, the program will also capture stories of how My Health Record benefits patients and their health outcomes.
- What’s involved and what can I get out of it?
Being selected as a Nurse Champion will greatly enhance your professional development and digital literacy. You will develop a skill set and knowledge base of how to use My Health Record clinically in situ and within clinical work flows as well as being able to share expertise developed with other nurses across your organisation. The program will also enable you to provide peer to peer feedback on the technical aspects of the My Health Record system and be an awesome champion of the its implementation! You will be required to attend some initial training and meetings and will have access to mentoring and support throughout the program. At the end of the program you will also need to present back on case scenarios so these examples can be used as learnings.
