At ACN, we value the insights and experiences of our Affiliate Members. Being an ACN Affiliate Member is more than just a partnership; it’s about forming connections, supporting each other and bettering the industry for our nurses, students and health care professionals.
We want to hear directly from our affiliates about why they enjoy being part of our affiliate community. Join us as we delve into their stories and discover what makes affiliate partnership with ACN so rewarding.
This month, we are excited to hear from one of our Platinum Affiliates, Serco.
Serco’s health services enable improved patient experiences and care outcomes through the delivery of clinical workforce management, credentialing, training, and integrated health facilities management solutions.
Working in collaboration with our partners and health service providers, we make a positive impact and address some of the most urgent and complex challenges facing Australia’s health system.
Employing around 2,150 healthcare professionals, including more than 1,000 Registered Nurses, our dedicated teams provide clinical and ancillary healthcare services at more than 100 facilities across Australia including public hospitals, Australian Defence Force (ADF) health centres, correctional centres and telehealth information and advisory services.
We recognise the invaluable contribution of nurses to the broader health outcomes of Australia, and we are dedicated to supporting and empowering this vital healthcare workforce. That is why we have proudly supported a number of important initiatives as an Australian College of Nursing (ACN) Platinum Affiliate Member for over four years.
As a Silver Sponsor of the Vivian Bullwinkel Project, and a major contributor to the establishment of the perpetual Nurse Scholarships program, we support nurses to advance their mid-career education through scholarships to assist with the costs associated with postgraduate study.
Through the Affiliate Partnership we have taken advantage of the College’s expertise in nursing leadership, working collaboratively to facilitate tailored training opportunities for our upcoming nurse leaders. Our nurses benefit from the enhanced membership opportunities that come with the Affiliate status, including access to the wide range of learning and development activities, networking forums and exposure to leading experts in nursing practice.
As part of our commitment to the professional development of Serco’s nursing workforce, we offer leave and subsidies and contribution towards costs for our nurses to participate in training and national conferences such as the National Nurses Forum (NNF) to enhance their continuing professional development and expose them to networking opportunities with like peers.
For the past four years, Serco has also supported the ACN’s annual NNF. Through our sponsorship of this valuable event, we’re helping bring together Australia’s nursing community and helping drive positive change across the healthcare system. We’re proud to play a role in advancing the leadership qualities of Australia’s nurses and empowering them to deliver quality care.
