This month, we are excited to hear from one of our Platinum Affiliates, Healthscope.
Healthscope has been a Double Platinum Affiliate with the ACN for the past three years.
“Healthscope is Australia’s only national private hospital provider, operating 38 hospitals across the country. We offer world-class patient care, including medical and surgical services, mental health treatment and rehabilitation services.
We also employ close to 18,000 nurses across the country who deliver exceptional professional care to our patients every day.
Healthscope grows its own nurse leaders, with around 360 graduates joining our graduate nurse program in 2024.
Since becoming a double platinum member in 2021, we have had over 180 nurse leaders enrol in the ACN Leader’s Mindset Series 2.
Participants have included registered nurses, clinical nurses, Nurse Educators, Nurse Unit Managers, Perioperative Services Managers, Quality and Risk managers and Directors of nursing.
The highlight of the series for many people is the strong focus on coaching others, which has inspired many of our team to model this in their day-to-day roles.
Our Healthscope nurses are benefiting from their leaders completing the course, and as a result are being coached to make patient focused decisions that are best practice.
Our people have also benefited from attending the ACN National Nursing Forum over the years. Healthscope’s Nurse of the Year Award recipient will be travelling to Cairns in August for this year’s forum. This is a wonderful professional development opportunity for one of our frontline nurses who is a role model for their profession and colleagues, displays excellence in clinical practice and makes a difference to our patients every day.
The Platinum Affiliate membership benefits all nurses at Healthscope. I recently had the pleasure of awarding an ACN 12-month membership to one of our Enrolled Nurses who joined Healthscope last year after working in aged care for some time. This nurse has been committed to her own professional development, completing an IV medication program, and has wholeheartedly embraced Healthscope’s program for enrolled nurses transitioning from aged care into acute care.
I can’t think of a better use of a 12-month membership than to support and encourage this nurse to continue her nursing journey alongside like-minded, passionate nurses at Healthscope and the ACN.”
