The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) is further strengthening its links with the nursing profession in the Pacific with a new scholarship program.
ACN CEO, Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward FACN, said today that the ACN Foundation is offering two international scholarships for nursing leaders from Pacific Island Nations to participate in ACN’s Institute of Leadership Nurse Executive Program.
“ACN has been working closely with our Pacific Islands nursing colleagues for more than five years,” Adjunct Professor Ward said.
“We have been providing Graduate Certificates with the assistance of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS).
“These new scholarships – worth $15,000 each – will build even closer links between the nursing profession in Australia and nurses from the 16 Pacific Island Nations,” Adjunct Professor Ward said.
ACN is working closely with Pacific Islands nursing groups to encourage applications.
Applications close on 11.59pm AEST, Tuesday 25 July 2023.
All applicants seeking to participate in this program are required to meet the selection criteria by providing a statement of up to 500 words on each of the following:
- Your personal vision on how to transform healthcare and influence government in your country;
- What you would like to achieve from attending the Nurse Executive Leadership program; and
- A self-assessment against the capabilities outlined in ACN’s Nurse Executive Capability Framework, including demonstrated outcomes, achievements, and your ability to lead and influence.
