The Clinical Mastery in Nursing: Navigating Advanced Pathophysiology microcredential is the first in the series from the unit of study Advanced Applied Pathophysiology. It is designed for registered and enrolled nurses. It is advisable to have an anatomy and physiology textbook available. We recommend Marieb, E. N., & Hoehn, K. (c2023). Applicable to all nurses (enrolled and registered) who work in acute or critical care settings. This course is also suitable for the following nursing specialties: Community and primary health nursing; Orthopaedic nursing; Perioperative nursing; Acute and critical care nursing
Learning outcomes
- review aspects of cellular structure, function and metabolism related to optimal physiologic function
- discuss the role of homeostasis in maintaining health and its impact on health breakdown
- integrate advanced physiological principles related to assessment, findings and clinical management of people with respiratory and haemodynamic disorders

Jenat is a critical care nurse who is very passionate about nursing. Clinically, she has experience working in various setting including Emergency, ICU, Rehabilitation and Community in both public and private health sectors. Academically, she holds a Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Nursing (USYD) and a Masters in Critical Care Nursing (UTAS). Jenat believes teaching is a process that facilitates acquisition and modification of knowledge that enables nurse to become critical thinkers. She thrives to create a supportive environment for nurses to learn and is passionate about empowering nurses to provide care that is of the highest quality.
