Independent Board Director with legal expertise
The Australian College of Nursing is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified person as an Independent Board Director.
The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) is the peak professional body and leader of the nursing profession. ACN is a for-purpose membership organisation committed to the mission of Shaping Health, Advancing Nursing. ACN supports nurses to uphold the highest possible standards of integrity, clinical expertise, ethical conduct, and professionalism through the six pillars of Education, Leadership, Community, Social Impact, Advocacy and Policy.
The Board currently has an upcoming vacancy for an Independent Director who is not eligible for membership of ACN. The term of office is four years.
We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Non-Executive Directors with strong legal expertise (in terms of Corporations law, WH&S, employment, contracts).
Experience as an Independent Director of ASX-listed, public and private companies would be an advantage including an understanding of principles of not-for-profit management.
As an individual, you will need to be outcome focused, comfortable with a constantly changing environment, energetic, enthusiastic and optimistic.
Completion of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course or the Governance Institute of Australia Graduate Diploma in Governance will be an advantage. Relevant tertiary qualifications are required. ACN Board members are not remunerated; however, expenses are covered.
