The Australian College of Nursing is proud to invite you to Military Faculty Conference on 16 August in Darwin or virtually. Register now
The Military Faculty Conference will commemorate and mark the 80 anniversary of the roles and sacrifices of nurses that occurred during the Japanese invasion of Singapore in February 1942, including the:
- sinking of SS Vyner Brooke,
- massacre of Australian nurses on Banka Island,
- detainment of Australian nurses as prisoners of war, and
- bombing of Darwin.
Focusing on the leadership experiences of military nurses and medics in operational and domestic settings, the Conference will allow you to engage with military nurse leaders from each of the services, with senior nurses offering insights on the evolving roles of nurses.
