Nurse Ben Jenkins MACN has recorded his final episode as host of The ACN Podcast as he prepares to focus on further enhancing his own skills and nursing career.
Ben previously hosted the popular New Grad Radio Podcast, before becoming the inaugural host of the Australian College of Nursing’s (ACN) podcast to mark 2020 Year of the Nurse and The Midwife. He returned in 2021 to host the podcast’s second season, creating a total of 35 episodes across two years featuring some of Australia’s most prestigious nursing leaders.
In the final episode, which was released earlier today, Ben reflects on how the podcast helped him develop as a nurse and leader.
“For 35 episodes across two seasons, I have spoken with some outstanding nurses and midwives from a variety of clinical backgrounds and specialties from both within and outside the ACN community,” he said.
“Each guest shared their entry into their profession, talked about their career progressions and we talked about their achievements together.”
“What started as a celebration of the Year of the Nurse and The Midwife turned into so much more.”
“For me personally, it has highlighted as a junior nurse hosting this podcast just how much variety there is in this profession and just how far this career can take you.”
ACN would like to thank Ben for the extensive time he has volunteered to host the ACN Podcast over the last two years. This is especially appreciated as it comes in addition to his full-time nursing role and position as Communications Coordinator for our Military Community of Interest.
