ACN is committed to representing and supporting nurses through all phases of their careers, from undergraduate through to early and mid-career, experienced and senior years as well as into retirement. Being a nurse is more than a job. It is a passion, a calling and a substantial part of our identity.

At ACN, we recognise that you do not cease to be a nurse upon retirement. We value the contribution you have made throughout your career and to the nursing profession. You will always remain a valued part of the ACN Tribe and we look forward to continuing to engage with you and would value drawing on your knowledge and expertise for years to come.

We are proud to reward the loyalty and commitment of our longstanding Fellows and Members and enable them to stay connected with their profession by offering complimentary Retired Membership to all nurses who maintained their Fellowship and/or Membership for a minimum of 10 years and are permanently leaving the paid nursing workforce.

Accessing Complimentary Retired Membership

If you currently hold Retired Membership, you can access your complimentary Retired Membership offer via the Complimentary Retired Membership page in the ‘My Benefits’ section of your member portal.

To set your membership status to retired, please get in touch with us by emailing membership@acn.edu.au or calling 1800 061 660.

Giving back to the next generation of nurses

Some retired members have generously offered to continue contributing to ACN to support the next generation of nurses by donating their membership subscription payments to the ACN Foundation. If you would like to give back to the profession in this way no further action is required, and your payments will be donated automatically.
