This unit of study introduces students to the specialty of cosmetic nursing. Foundational nursing assessment strategies are applied to the use of commonly used cosmetic injectable treatments and other treatments and procedures, including laser. Scope of practice for the nurse in the cosmetic industry is analysed and identification and management of adverse events is also examined. There is a strong focus on safety and evidence based practice.
